Chhota Bheem Is Back On Pogo TV
A jingle that gets stuck in your head, characters that make you aspire to be better, colourful setting and relatable lingo — there you have it, a perfect recipe for a successful show.
Chhota Bheem, Pogo’s famous kids cartoon show has won hearts and minds of millions of Indian children.
“The show is a success mainly because of its storyline and its characters who are very strong. Kids not only adore the character but also aspire to be like him. The fact that it is in the local language (Hindi) increases its mass appeal and popularity,” says co-producer and director (content) South Asia, Turner International, Krishna Desai.
Chhota Bheem as the protagonist has been welcomed with open arms. This was a very apt decision on the part of the creators. Putting forward a lead character that displays imbibable characteristics, and yet, is a child at the end of the day is the most appealing factor of this show.
Even though Chhota Bheem is named after the character Bheema from Mahabharata he is nowhere like the man in the mythology. It was a smart and a safe trope to initially attract viewers. Rajiva Chilaka, the curator of he show, says that he realized while watching Hanuman, a child character is much more lovable than a grown up character and thus was born the idea of Chhota Bheem’s character. Taking just the trope of strength from the mythological character, the series shows the protagonist playing, having fun and even making mischiefs. The fact that the inspiration is just a character and not a God (like Krishna) makes his actions more relatable and acceptable.
Starting out with 13 episodes, the show has become a huge hit, airing almost 155 episodes. Children like to look up to Bheem, wants a friend like chutki and love a pet like Jaggu. While watching simple, relatable stories the young audience gets to know the difference between right and wrong. The show inculcates several timelines teaching us about bullying, honestly, and loyalty that are hard to explain to children, making it easy and approachable.
The show is not always serious, let’s not forget the fun, adventurous trips we get to take with the characters every once in a while. Imagine investigating, coming to know the truth and righting the wrongs — the kids watching the show feel like young explorers and peacekeepers. They leave no opportunity to watch Team Chhota Bheem in action.
To satiate the thirst for adventure in the children watching the show, Pogo is bring new episodes of Chhota Bheem, every Mon-Fri at 9AM. Get ready to kickstart your mornings with adventures that would keep your spirits up all day long as you tune in to Pogo tv.
