GRIZZY AND THE LEMMINGS — A Laughter Riot
The most loved kids cartoon channel, Pogo, likes to keep the fun rolling. With a collection of some of the most loved cartoons, the channel makes it a point to keep its audience hooked and interested. From Chhota Bheem to Mr. Bean, Andy and Pirki to Oddbods, it airs a number of genres and storylines. One such show that has received immense love in last few years is Grizzy and the Lemmings.
Weaved on the DNA of the timeless animation, Grizzy and the Lemmings sits perfectly alongside archetypical cartoons like Tom and Jerry and The Looney Tunes. The show is a play on dichotomies and invokes humor by playing with the concept of contradictions. The two protagonists Grizzy and the Lemmings are species chosen from opposite ends of the animal kingdom. Grizzy is a grizzly bear who is generally ferocious and huge in stature. The Lemmings on the other hand classify as rodents and are miniscule in size.
To keep the equilibrium between the two, both in terms of characteristics and screen balance, the curators very smartly balance the huge bulk of a bear by incorporating a large number of Lemmings. While Grizzy is strong, the Lemmings are really fast.
These two wild characters are placed in a modern setting to create a contemporary comedy. Continuing the trend of slapstick humour of the animation world the two protagonist, much like Tom and Jerry, are invested in a battle of territory. Akin to competitive siblings, they fight over the minutest of matters. With fantasy violence similar to the likes of the Road Runner, we see purposed smashing of heavy boxes on the Lemmings, running through glass windows, and imagining being whacked in the head with a metal bar and getting knocked out. The never ending battle, much like a sibling fight in a fictional landscape, goes on to take the characters through various settings, but guess what, the tussle never ends! That’s exactly what keeps the viewers hooked. The indigenous, quirky voiceover with puns and jabs adds an edge to the otherwise relatable angle to the show especially made for the Indian spectators. The anthropomorphic animals create a fun-filled laughter riot for the young audience, taking them on a journey full of adventure and fun.
On popular demand, Pogo is coming up with new back to back episodes of Grizzy and the Lemmings every Monday to Saturday, 2 PM onwards. So mark your calendars and don’t miss the bus for the most fun ride ever!
