Launched in 2004, POGO is an only-for-India kids’ entertainment network that airs both animated and live action content spanning multiple genres. One such underrated yet totally enjoyable show is Tik Tak Tail, a slapstick chase comedy involving exaggerated physical activity that exceeds the boundaries of normal physical comedy. Over the years, the show has made this style of comedy immensely relatable for young children.

India has been a land of funky animations, creative characters and amusing storylines. It all started from Doordarshan’s legendary show Ek Anek aur Ekta, after which came about shows like Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, Tik Tak Tail and Chhota Bheem.

The show features a bittersweet rivalry between a cute rabbit named Tik, a fierce tiger named Tak and Tail, who always gets in way of Tak’s plans because he has an eye on Tik’s carrots. A rollercoaster ride of fun and entertainment, it has been winning over many hearts since its inception.

In the landmark show, Tak and Tail are partners in crime and their prey is Tik — always, without fail. On the other hand, Tik, being a cunning rabbit, thwarts their entrapment plans each time and escapes without a scratch. The chemistry of competitive one-upmanship between Tik, Tak and Tail gave the chase comedy a distinct identity of its own.

Apart from the laughs, the show also introduced children to various social messages, such as teaching them to refuse plastic usage through special dance performances on the ‘Tik Tik Plastic’ anthem. Despite being a mainstream cartoon show, the characters also focuses on language acquisition and cognitive development for children.

Owing to the massive outreach and huge popularity of the show, POGO has decided to re-launch a new string of episodes of the show, which is surely going to bring a sense of nostalgia to adults who have already witnessed it, and a smile to those young ones who have never experienced their mad adventures. Besides, viewers can now not only watch it on TV, but also enjoy their favourite cartoons on the internet, play video games as one of the characters, and buy Tik Tak Tail merchandise on the official website. In fact, thanks to the rising popularity of the show, POGO may soon announce a Tik Tak Tail movie as well.

Looks like children in India are going to have a great time after their long, tiring school days because, guess what — Tik Tak Tail are back in town, kiddos!
