Operations management plays a very vital role in the efficient functioning of an organization. It primarily deals with planning, governing and managing the output products from a company. Operations management is highly responsible for maintaining a good input to output ratio of the company.

The input to the company can be in the form of employees, machinery, technological support, raw materials and so on. Operations management governs the proper and efficient use of the input elements and ensures cost effective production of output product.
