Pradip Burman’s Mobius foundation making ways for sustainable preservation

More often than not we hear the terms ‘water scarcity’, ‘worst air quality’, ‘noise pollution’, ‘endless landfills’ and the most famous one is ‘plastic pollution’. We do understand the meaning of it & that they are the current reality of our planet but we still conveniently ignore such hazardous conditions & their consequences. Life and existence does seem to be difficult to maintain on planet earth considering the current and future expected climate change conditions.

In this era of development, buildings and concrete structures where people are polluting the air and wasting water, we do have some responsible citizens as a ray of hope!

Mr. Pradip Burman, thé chairman of Mobius foundation has initiated a number of projects towards sustainable living & an eco-friendly approach. Interestingly he has completed a level of success in many of them. His projects are truly a source of inspiration.

Ages, a company founded by Pradip Burman, is dedicated solely to provide Hydroponic Green Feed throughout the year for contributing towards sustainable energy.

Mobius Foundation is an NGO working towards environmental sustainability, population stabilization, inclusive education and ecological conservation. Since its inception, it has undertaken many programmes to further the cause of sustainability.

• Project Aakar is an initiative to promote population stabilization. It educates people on the importance of reproductive health, family planning and contraceptives.
• Sanjeevani Project is an initiative to increase green cover, under which several tree plantation drives are to be organised.
• Eco Toilets are low-maintenance, safe and hygienic. The scientific model followed by these toilets is called evapotranspiration, which is self-cleansing and requires less land.
• Hydro Panel Mobius Foundation is the first NGO in India to install hydro panels in rural areas at SIRUC (Sundesh Integrated Rural Upliftment Centre) in Hapur district Uttar Pradesh.
• Atmospheric Water Generator is helping to mitigate the problem of erratic water supply in rural areas, SkyWater’s patented technology has been adopted to make the most of atmospheric water generators. SkyWater’s system uses cutting edge technology to convert atmospheric moisture content into clean drinking water.

Future projects under Mobius foundation are:

Gyan Anant Vidyalaya — The school addresses environmental issues by bringing awareness through education in rural areas. It is diverse in its design and organization, reflecting the unique historical and socio-cultural settings. It aims to empower and educate young minds while fostering their relationship with the environment. From organic farming to environmental monitoring, various activities will support the main curriculum. The school opens its admissions processes in November’2019.

World Environment School — Coorg The school aims to form adults who are healthy in mind and body, have a strong sense of right and wrong, who will be cooperative, responsible and supportive, enjoy learning and have enquiring minds, eager to experiment. If they fall, they will pick themselves up and try again

• International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE) 2019

The conference is planned with a view to explore pathways to address current and emerging sustainability challenges through education by empowering learners with new skills, values and attitudes that lead to more sustainable societies. The objective of the conference is to define an education curriculum for students.

The Foundation has a firm belief that the three Rs, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, will help to achieve an eco-friendly environment. These three steps will also ensure conservation of natural resources, reduced consumption and decrease in pollution. There are many such projects by Mobius Foundation, in various other sectors towards sustainability.

The man behind it all, Mr. Pradip Burman believes that, while we have indeed made a promising start, there is still miles to go before we can hang our boots and celebrate.
